Take part in our sought after Thai Buddhism programme in the beautiful Chiang Mai region of Thailand. Immerse yourself in Buddhist culture and experience a unique and sacred way of life in the monastery. Be part of a program where you will be providing alms to the Monks in the morning and participate in uplifting meditation & chanting in the evening.
Based in Chiang Mai, our Thai Buddhism program offers the opportunity to immerse yourself in Thai culture through a variety of different cultural and religious activities ranging from helping monks with their daily chores to mediation practices.
To book an activity with us we require you to participate for a minimum of two weeks. Therefore, you would need to book a quantity of two for this activity, unless you choose a separate activity to go with it. See the ‘Related trips…’ section for more options. We also offer a cultural immersion week, so talk to us if you would like to add this too, as it is a great way of settling in, learning cultural aspects of the country you are visiting and meeting new people.
The Thai Buddhism Programme offers a transformative cultural and spiritual experience, providing participants with the opportunity to immerse themselves in the rich traditions of Thai Buddhism. Situated in a serene temple environment, this programme invites participants to engage in the daily lives of Buddhist monks, learn about their spiritual practices, and cultivate mindfulness through meditation. Whether you are a beginner or have prior meditation experience, the programme is tailored to guide you on a meaningful journey of self-discovery and cultural appreciation.
Under the guidance of experienced monks and with the support of a dedicated coordinator, participants will learn Buddhist principles, meditation techniques, and temple etiquette. Daily routines include chanting, meditation, alms giving, and assisting with temple chores, offering an authentic glimpse into the simplicity and tranquillity of monastic life.
