Weekends are free for volunteers to enjoy as they please.

Volunteers spend at least a few hours of most weekends in Moshi, the nearby city where they can pick up any supplies they need and use the internet, there are also one or two nightclubs, travel to Moshi is often a chance to use the local daladala minibuses.

V2V also organises a number of local trips to nearby attractions including visits to villages to learn about the cultural history of the Chagga and Pare people, trips to Miwalleni springs, and other nearby waterfalls and natural swimming pools and Uchira's hand hewn quarries and tunnels amongst other local trips.

V2V‐Tz has also linked up with a local Safari and trek company to offer volunteers the chance to get very reasonably priced safaris to local national parks including the stunning Ngorongoro Crater and the chance to trek Mt. Kilimanjaro.

Volunteers have also visited Arusha a nearby city with fantastic markets, Dar es Salaam and the Tanzanian coasts white beaches.

Zanzibar is also a favourite getaway of volunteers.
