Photos of Romania gap year volunteering

When you think of Romania you might think of a poor country…and to some extent this is realistic. However Romania’s mixed history has blessed it with some fine churches, elaborate piazzas and romantic cities and towns.

Being so poor it is hard to believe that you are still in Europe, in a country that is now a fully fledged member of the European Union.

Particularly away from the cities and towns Romania does reveal a very poor country that has struggled to find its way since the fall of its former president Ceausescu nearly twenty years ago. Romanians look back to these days of Communism and Ceausescu with few fond memories.

We have placement opportunities to work in Romanian schools and orphanages in and around the medieaval town of Sibiu. It is possible to combine both the school and orphanage placements.

If you are interested in finding out more about these placements then do e-mail David at david@changingworlds.co.uk
